Start this 6-course Basics course by learning how to find your way around Adobe Photoshop. Begin with basic skills like cropping, compressing, color transformations, and exposure. Then explore brushes, the pencil tools, and get familiar with the concept of layers.
As a final exercise, take two images and combine them together. Modify the composed image by cropping, playing with layers, and making some brush strokes.
Gain control over color and light
Discover the secrets of controlling light and color in your images. Learn about levels, curves, and selective color. Get familiar with fills, gradients, and the eyedropper. Start experimenting with burning and dodging and uncover the techniques for controlling highlights and shadows in your images.
Put your skills into practice by selecting an unprocessed image and performing the full color correction process on it.

In this course, learn about perspective and discover a variety of ways for making selections and applying masks as a way to segment sections of an image. About the Instructor
Harrison Kuykendall is a digital artist living in New York City who specializes in creative retouching and design using Adobe Photoshop. He is the owner and founder of HE–Studios, a Brooklyn based post-production studio whose client list includes Target, Stella Artois, Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs, Aveeno, Champion, and Diane von Furstenberg.
Harrison and his studio are focused on retouching stills and creating animations for large scale global advertising campaigns that can be seen on billboards and screens around the world. When he’s not experimenting in Photoshop or the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite, you can find him relaxing with his three cats or creating music for his synthpop band BHuman.
